Author Iris Porter needed a bold layout to anchor her book on the vibrant do-it-yourself scene in Los Angeles, California. The creative challenge was to produce a simple yet bold one-color design using typography and a grid layout. The result is DIY in LAX, an 84-page book of essays with striking pull quotes meant to give the reader a glimpse into a meaningful creative subculture in Los Angeles.
